A Christ Mindset

Change is nice, but it also affects the stability of a person's life. Now a flustered heart can sometimes jump the gun and perceive it as OK fun ... Nonetheless, someone with a mindset of Christ can easily balance their life's between home, work, church and other responsibilities too ...

Moms, dads, grandparents and other guardians too, we understand that the cost of living has skyrocketed in the past few years, however  before you rearrange your life's, think about it, not just: once, twice or three times without adding a pinch of prayer in between. On account of any choice you make can linger from generation to generation. Thus, your best bet is to hand over certain or all your decisions to the only man that thinks outside of the box, without having to be in the box ... Jesus Christ ... Cool Right?

Hebrew 4:16 (NCV) - Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it.

An Old School Vision

As I reminisce, giggle and rejoice about those sweet memories of my Momi and Papi, what stands out the most was the way my mother patiently cut my father's hair. As a child all I heard was my father directing my mother about how much hair not to cut off and to hurry up because he wanted to watch the news afterwards(Hehehe).  At times I felt as if I was watching a family sit com.

WOW, now that I'm a wife and mom, I too cut my hubby's and our 4 sons hair every 2 weeks. The bible is so true when it says this ...

Revelation 14:13 (NLV) - Then I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write these words: ‘From now on those who are dead who died belonging to the Lord will be happy.’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will have rest from all their work. All the good things they have done will follow them.”

Every time I enter my kitchen, I encounter flash backs about those loving, but yet extremely serious conversations my mother and I had. They were always chuck full of motherly advice that truly have benefited my family and me ...

1 Timothy 5:2 (NCV) - Older women like mothers, and younger women like sisters. Always treat them in a pure way.

My father was also constantly telling me that today I'm a daughter; but one day I'll be a wife and mother. My Papi didn't believe in sugar coating life, he was direct and to the point when it came to giving advice and he did it with this intent too ...

Proverbs 13:24 (GNT) - If you don't punish your children, you don't love them. If you do love them, you will correct them.

In Jesus name, my GEM and I are going to continue to love, advice and especially discipline our 4 Diamond sons ...

Diverse Definitions

Names have diverse definitions in a person's life. Such as whether or not the individual is serious, a clown or just around to make a difference in life, while your enjoying some ice cream and apple pie ...

Mom's & Dad's keep in mind when the Lord Blesses you with a bundle of joy(a baby) don't be afraid to ask God for help in choosing a name. For a name goes to bed with your son or daughter, wakes up alone side of  them everyday and its how the will referred to them for the rest of  their life's ...

Proverbs 22:1 (HCSB) - A good name is to be chosen over great wealth; favor is better than silver and gold.

Therefore, whenever Jesus answers your prayers regarding having a child, honor Christ in prayer so that He can guide you in reference to what name you'll bestow over them ...

Homemade Delicacies

Tomato soup has various functions in a home; however most parents aren't aware of them. You must be thinking, yes it's tasty and what else? Well, in our home it's a source of joyful chatter. As a mother of 4 amazing sons and a loving husband to boot, I'd like to share this brief story with all of you ...

Now, this thick and deep red liquid can warm your body, lower a fever and at the same time turn a kitchen into a cooking segment without any cameras. It's so awesome how my family gathers around the kitchen table like bees to honey within minutes, because they know that a heartfelt story will accompany this dish.

Its touchig, how every time the aroma of tomato soup is sensed in our home it transports my GEM to his loving Mommy's kitchen in the Dominican Republic, where she prepared those mouth watering delicacies. Hence, our entire family partakes of this on a daily bases ....

Ephesians 3:14-15 (NCV) - 14. So I bow in prayer before the Father 15. from whom every family in heaven and on earth gets its true name.

Today's Tomorrow

The men your son/sons turn out to be in the future depends on the Lord, the male figures in their life's and how they handle the issues that attempt to disrupt or detain their progress too. For example, if your a single mother, living in an unsafe neighborhood, that can motivate the young man in various directions. The bible refuse to friendship or socializing in this fashion ...

Proverbs 27:17 (NLV) - Iron is made sharp with iron, and one man is made sharp by a friend.

Something else that can effect the maturity of a male adolescent is the following:

  1. How the parents conduct themselves in front of the child in the event there's a misunderstanding. Do they feel the need to yell, become physically and verbally violent or can the interact like two people that were once in love.
  2. The manner in which the mother refers to the deceased, divorced, one night stand or unknown father, when she's upset.
  3. Finally, if you've seriously prayed over your child while they were still in the womb, after they were born and when the little guy made a little mistake in elementary school.
My Closing Statement:

Lord, please grant every young man with a positive male role model in their life's, a forgiving heart and a desire to be a loving father, mentor or asset to the community too ...

College Summer System

Hooray, our house is finally full again and our 4 loving sons arrived from their 1st. day of summer semester(college) classes with a testifying spirit. My GEM & I are constantly chatting about how time flew by so fast and how their achievements still leave us speechless ...

In addition to, we'd like to ask all the parents far and near to please pray over your kids, attempt to communicate more with them during those turbulent teens years and last but certainly not least, remember that you were once their age ... For the bible tells us this ...

Colossians 3:14 (NLT) ~ Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

We're so grateful that the Lord granted us the give to have 4 loving, determined and sweet sons ...

Just Relax People!

Sweating the small stuff(in my opinion) is an emotional stair case up to freaking out, before an individual encounters an unexpected BIG time dilemma ...

I'd like to share a personal family experience with all of you. Now, my GEM & I are constantly sharing with our 4 opinionated sons about our version of a particular road map, we call life and it goes like this:

  1. Think deep and hard before you do something; so you won't regret it later time.
  2. If a girl doesn't like you for who you are, then perhaps she's not the one God has destined for you.
  3. Most important NEVER turn your back on the Lord; because of a: job, cultural difference to make new friends or to impress someone of the opposite sex.
CLOSING ARGUMENT

Jesus Christ will never turn his back on us and he proved it to the world when he died on the Cross ... Or have you forgotten this?

John 3:16 (GW) ~ God loved the world this way: He gave his only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not die but will have eternal life.

Leave everything up the Him; because a champion when it comes to this ...

Psalm 55:22 (HCSB) ~ Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken.

Life Lessons

We live in a world where parents should teach their kids and/or young adults the difference between needing something or wanting a particular item because Mom & Dad have the funds to purchase it   ...

1. Needs are things that you have in order to function or progress in life ..
2. Wants are momentary and unnecessary desires ...

Some adults have a bad habit of saying this in front of their kids ... I'll die if I don't buy that. Now answer this question, what kind of message are you transmitting to your son or daughter? Have you forgotten that our children tend to mentally photograph what we do and when we least expect it, they duplicate it?

Final Thought:

Let's not spoil our young people because today their under our roof and tomorrow they'll have their own bills to pay ... Living your life on a whim only results in financial bankruptcy, trouble in your future relationships and you'll never really appreciate the value of a dollar.

God Answers Prayers!

Every time I look at our 4 loving sons, they surprise us with something new and that gives birth to more love for them. Now a few weeks ago my laptop died on me and I was so upset because I was unable to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ through my blogs. Days, weeks and 2 months went by; however in my mind and heart it felt like a lifetime ...

Instead of getting upset, I  started to Pray every chance I got. Now something sweet and funny was going on in my own home and I was unaware. Our oldest son Carlos Jr. started an early bird PRAYER campaign so that the Lord could replace my laptop. I can truly say with a huge smile on my face, GOD still answers our Prayers when we least except it. Today, while my GEM was tending to our daily duties, low and beyond a stranger walked up to my husband and gave him a free laptop for me ...

Once again, I'll share this last statement with a joy in my heart and a smile on my face. GOD still answers our Prayers ...

John 15:7 (ESV)
If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

CooL and Soft

Snow Flakes look, feel and even taste like icicles ... They come down from the sky with so much grace and don't annoy kids or some adults either when they touch their faces. Perhaps its due to the cool and soft breeze a person feels when the snow flakes slide down their cheeks ...

All I know is this, everytime I look out our windows and see those snow flakes coming down, childhood memories pop in and out of my mind. What do you feel or think when you see or feeL snow flakes touching your faces? Care to share?

Dear family and friends, keep this in mind, it's the little things that create this ...

Psalm 16:9(ESV)
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.

~ A Pinch of MotherLy Advice ~

When your young and in love, sometimes you do things without thinking twice; because your smitten by that young lady or man that's caught your eye or heart ...

Before you take another step, consider this ... Pray, wait and try not to be too hasty when it comes to handing over your heart to someone your not sure about ... For the word of the Lord shares this ...

Proverbs 19:2
New Century Version (NCV)

Enthusiasm without knowledge is not good. If you act too quickly, you might make a mistake.

It comes from the Heart,
